These Are The Three Cornerstones Which Buttress The Foundation Of Jeopardy Kennels.

TUDOR’S DIBO R.O.M.

DIBO9

Tudor’s DIBO was whelped on March 21st, 1951 in a litter which included Howard Heinzl’s ARIZONA PETE, Ed Ritcheson’s JERRY and John Langham’s LIL. The dogs of some of the greatest breeders in the history of the breed are in his pedigree. Dog men such as Earl Tudor of Hobart Oklahoma, , Con Feeley and Joe Corvino of Chicago Illinois, John P Colby of Newbury Port, Massachusetts,  Bill Shipley of Texas, Frank Henry of Marietta Ohio and Cockney Charlie Lloyd of Manhattan New York left their fingerprints on DIBO’S pedigree. DIBO produced the following Champions which were excellent producers in their own right: Tudor’s CH. SPIKE, Tudor’s CH. JEFF, Ed Crenshaw’s CH. BUCK, Tudor’s GR. CH. WHITE ROCK, Carver’s CH. CRACKER and Saddler’s CH. FRITO.

DIBO is considered by most to be the pivotal stud dog in the breed which set the standard for the modern American Pit Bull Terrier. The modern bloodlines descended from DIBO include Davis’ GR. CH. BOOMERANG, Patrick’s TOMBSTONE, INDIAN BOLIO, Plumber’s CH. ALLIGATOR, Boudreaux’ ELI (BULLYSON & ELI JR.) , Wood’s SNOOTY, Crenshaw’s CH. HONEYBUNCH, Mayfield’s NIGGER, Crenshaw’s CH. RASCAL, Loposay’s BUSTER, Carver’s PISTOL,  IRONHEAD and STOMPANATO.

FITZWATER’S CH. GOLDIE

fitz gol

Frank Fitzwater’s CH. GOLDIE was bred on the yard of Howard Heinzl, in Tempe Arizona. He was allegedly sold for $15.00 to Texan dog fancier Frank Fitzwater, the son of notorious outlaw Jessee James.  CH. GOLDIE was a cross of the bloodline of William Lightner, of Denver Colorado who had the best of the Old Family red nose dogs which traced back to the Irish pit bull terrier lines and the bloodline of John P Colby of Newbury Port Massachusetts whose dogs went back to such dogs as Lloyd’s PILOT, McDonald’s GRIP (the GASHOUSE dog) and Colby’s GALTIE an Irish old family dog. CH. GOLDIE as a young dog refused to engage in battle and was labeled a cur until he was proven super-game in the hands of Don Mayfield, scratching 23 times to win. He won two more shows and was stolen soon after. He was however later returned to his owner and was used as a stud by Don Mayfield who bred him to some DIBO bloodline bitches he got from Earl Tudor. Maurice Carver also bred him to some of his BLACK WIDOW bitches and got such dogs as Klaus’ ZEKE and his litermate sister Womack’s MERT. Frank Fitzwater also did some breedings in collaboration with his partner Carl Marshall.

From these CH. GOLDIE-DIBO crosses came such dogs as Stockton’s CH. BIG LIZ and her litter sister Carver’s MISS SPIKE, Hooten’s CH. BUTCHER BOY, Davis’ GR.CH. BOOMERANG, Stockton’s SWIG and LOUIE, Van Parkman’s PISTOL, Art Riley’s MISSY, Petronelli’s FOX and Wood’s SNOOTY, INDIAN BOLIO, Sorrells’ BULL and many others. This potent cross developed into what some consider to be the strongest family in the breed.

COLBY’S DIME

colDIME

DIME was whelped on August 26, 1949, bred by Louis B. Colby down from the bloodlines bred by his father since the late 1800s. The Colby dogs had distinguished themselves as a proven-game and formidable strain and were highly sought-after internationally. DIME was the pivotal dog of his family and his offspring and descendants went to such fanciers as Howard Heinzl of Arizona, Blair Hetrick of  Pennsylvania, Ed Crenshaw of New Mexico, J.R. Loposay of North Carolina,  Pete Sparks of Florida and Bob Neblett of Oklahoma.

DIME blood was blended with either DIBO blood or Lightner red nose blood and there were also 3-way crosses which were also done.  Howard Teal’s JEFF, a line-bred Colby dog produced Bass’ TRAMP RED BOY, the foundation of the reputed gamest bloodline in modern pit bull terrier history. Another DIME bloodline dog was Bob Finley’s CH. BO who was also a great producer of game, high-ability dogs.
